Rux Energy has a mission to decarbonise the hardest to abate sectors with its breakthrough solutions for hydrogen storage. At Rux Energy we are also committed to ensuring that our technology is sustainable and makes the best use of our resource input and outputs.

Rux Energy launched its sustainable policy in February 2025 to ensure that sustainable practices are integrated into all our operations. We walk the talk.

We are particularly proud of our sustainable manufacturing process for the manufacture of our nanoporous materials. This uses waste products from steel manufacturing as inputs, has eliminated the use of toxic organic solvents and developed a manufacturing process that is entirely water-based. Water used in the process is also recycled.

We are also researching the use of composite carbon fibres made from waste materials for the manufacture of our tanks for hydrogen storage.

Energy-Efficiency is also a priority, and we are monitoring energy use in every step of the manufacturing process to optimise energy use. An added advantage is reduced cost of the product, accelerating our journey to cost-parity with diesel.

We continuously monitor energy and water use and waste that is generated with a view to minimising all waste streams. We are developing a Life Cycle model for our products to ensure sustainable outcomes throughout their product life.

Rux Energy also works with suppliers to ensure that inputs into our processes are sourced responsibly.

In engaging with our customers, we continually assess and address climate-related risks and opportunities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and adherence to best practice standards.

By embedding sustainability into every aspect of the business, Rux Energy is setting a benchmark. The company’s dedication to green practices demonstrates that technological innovation and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand. As industries worldwide move toward cleaner energy solutions, Rux Energy takes another step forward on its journey to net zero.
