The growing importance of India as a market for NSW products, services and technology was made prominent at the Investment NSW NSW Business India Literacy Program: Unlocking India’s Growth Economy, held in Parramatta on 13th August 2026, in partnership with Asialink Business, Business Western Sydney and Centre for Australia India Relations (CAIR)

Rux Energy was proud to have our Chair, Dr Marlene Kanga AO, a member of the CAIR CEO and Directors Network and a former board member of Asialink, join industry and market leaders as a panelist to discuss the challenges and opportunities of doing business in India.

The event included keynote remarks from the Hon Anoulack Chanthivong MP, NSW Minister for Industry and Trade, Donna Davis MP, NSW Member for Parramatta, Dr Janakiraman Sarvesvaran, Consul General of India in Sydney and Ryan Neelam, CEO, Centre for Australia-India Relations (CAIR).

The program, an initiative of the Minns Labor Government through Investment NSW, is designed to help NSW businesses better understand, navigate and expand into one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies.

The discussion highlighted that India is an increasingly important trade and investment partner for Australia, with significant opportunities for Australian companies in the rapidly expanding emerging across cleantech, agtech and agrifood sectors in India. 

Dr Kanga acknowledged the support from Investment NSW and other NSW agencies including the NSW Environment Trust and the NSW Department of Climate Change Environment Energy and Water (DCEEW) in supporting its technology development and entry into potential export markets. 

For Rux Energy, the discussion was particularly relevant as Australia looks to build stronger international partnerships around the technologies, supply chains and infrastructure required for the global energy transition. The panelists emphasised the need for developing market literacy with trusted local networks in a large and complex market and the importance of  support from agencies like Investment NSW and Austrade.

Rux Energy appreciated the opportunity from NSW Government, Investment NSW, Asialink Business and Business Western Sydney and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Centre for Australia India Relations (CAIR) to share its knowledge with the business community across NSW and in bringing together a valuable discussion that supports Australian businesses that are seeking to engage more deeply with India.
