Rux Energy is proud to have been part of the consortium led by ELIRE Maritime delivering the Hydrogen Floating Power Hub Feasibility Programme under the UK Government’s Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC6).

The project explores a zero-emission, grid-independent shore power solution designed to help ports decarbonise vessel operations without waiting for large-scale grid upgrades. The initiative forms part of the UK SHORE programme delivered by Innovate UK and the UK Department for Transport.

As part of the consortium, Rux Energy led the development of low-pressure nanoporous hydrogen storage modules, leveraging our advanced materials technology to improve the safety, efficiency and economics of hydrogen storage for maritime applications.

This project represents another important step toward enabling scalable hydrogen infrastructure for ports, shipping and heavy industry – supporting cleaner operations, improved air quality and the broader transition to low-carbon maritime energy systems.

We’re excited to collaborate with an outstanding consortium including ELIRE Maritime, Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, Ricardo, Schneider Electric, University of Strathclyde, Triton Anchor Europe and Sealand Projects to help advance practical, deployable solutions for maritime decarbonisation.
