After receiving interest from the Dutch delegations to the APAC World Hydrogen Summit in Brisbane 2024, the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency visited Rux Energy at their office and lab at Cicada Innovations in Sydney, Australia’s Home of Deep Tech. The meeting focused on developing the scope for future collaboration with key governmental and private sector partners within the Dutch hydrogen and advanced manufacturing ecosystem, aligned to the Australia-Netherlands Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Hydrogen, signed in 2023.

Guests included the Executive Director from the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, Mrs. Adeline Tan, Assistant Director – Oceania, Mrs. Ashleigh Knox and Senior Policy Officer, Mr. Nathan Bruijn.

The Dutch delegation and Rux Energy senior leadership, led by Founder & CEO Dr Jehan Kanga, discussed plans for potential future collaborative research and development and knowledge sharing. The ultimate goal of these planned projects will be to find the most efficient, lowest cost and safest path to scaling hydrogen deployment within the Netherlands, accelerating the decarbonisation of Europe’s hardest-to-abate sectors, and increasing energy security for all.

Strategic bilateral cooperation and knowledge sharing discussions will continue online as well as in person at the upcoming World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam in May 2025, with specific focus on the impact next generation advanced hydrogen storage technologies can have across the value chain – from production right through to last-mile delivery and end-use. The planned multiparty discussions in Rotterdam will feature as a key contribution of Rux Energy’s participation within the Australian Government’s delegation to The Netherlands, organised by Austrade.
